Russia’s Vi Holding sees ore dressing plant in Zimbabwe in 2017
MOSCOW, Dec 27 (PRIME) -- Russian investment and industrial group Vi Holding plans to start building an ore dressing plant at the Darwendale platinum field in Zimbabwe in 2017, CEO Vitaly Mashitsky told reporters on Tuesday.
“The development of the Darwendale platinum field may start in 2018, construction of an ore dressing plant will start already next year,” he said.
Large-scale geological exploration works on the field have been now completed and designing of the ore dressing plant is starting, he added.
The project to develop the Darwendale field implemented by a consortium of state-industrial corporation Rostec, state-owned Vnesheconombank (VEB) and Vi Holding jointly with partners from Zimbabwe is estimated at U.S. $2.5 billion. Preliminary platinum and gold reserves of the field are estimated at 525 tonnes.
